About the Role
As a Concrete Laborer at D&R, you’ll work on concrete projects of every size for homes and businesses across the Manhattan area, from foundations and basements to driveways, sidewalks, pads, and retaining walls. Day to day, you’ll move between forming, pouring, and finishing, always working safely and taking pride in a clean, level finish.
Job Description
- Residential and commercial concrete work, including foundations, footings, slabs, driveways, sidewalks, concrete pads, patios, and retaining walls
- Setting up, leveling, and stripping forms
- Placing rebar and wire mesh
- Pouring, spreading, screeding, and finishing concrete
- Site preparation, including grading, compacting, and setting up for pours
- Operating equipment such as skid steers and excavators for digging, grading, and moving materials (training available)
- Reading plans, measuring precisely, and cutting and fitting materials accurately
- Working directly with supervisors and team members to make sure safety and quality standards are met
- Driving to and from job sites (carpooling is available)
- Keeping job sites clean
- Checking your work for accuracy and quality before moving on

- Experience in concrete or general construction work
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a crew
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly when necessary
