Legacy
Father and son Ray and Don Crubel came to Manhattan in 1963 building post offices, then stayed to build homes around the new Tuttle Creek Lake as D&R Lakeside Cabins and Homes, later D&R Construction, incorporated in 1987. Don’s motto: “In every job that must be done, there should always be an element of fun.”
Don’s sons Tracy and John grew up on the job sites and took over after Ray and Don retired, carrying on the family’s commitment to quality and attention to detail, with Angie, Sylvia and Peggy running the office over the years.
Blake worked for D&R growing up and through college, learning many of his trade skills here. Now it’s come full circle: in 2026, Blake and Amber had the opportunity to purchase the company and keep the legacy alive.
